The 2a Divisió in Andorra is the second tier of football in the country. It was founded in 1995, as the second division of the Andorran Football Federation. The league is made up of 10 teams, who compete for the championship title, and promotion to the top tier of Andorran football, the Primera Divisió.
The first season of the 2a Divisió began in 1995, with six teams competing in the inaugural season. The teams were FC Encamp, FC Ordino, FC Santa Coloma, UE Sant Julià, UE Sant Julià B, and UE Santa Coloma B. The first champions were UE Santa Coloma B, who finished the season with a record of 11 wins, 4 draws and 3 losses.
The league has since grown to 10 teams, with the addition of UE Engordany, FC Lusitans, FC Rànger’s, and FC Penya Encarnada. The current champions are UE Sant Julià, who won the 2019-20 season with a record of 16 wins, 5 draws and 1 loss.
The 2a Divisió is run by the Andorran Football Federation, who are responsible for the organisation and running of the league. The federation is made up of representatives from each of the 10 teams, who are responsible for making decisions on the rules and regulations of the league.
The 2022 season of the 2a Divisió Andorra kicked off on September 18th, 2022 and is set to conclude on March 26th, 2023. Eleven teams are competing for the championship and so far, 110 out of the total of 70 matches have been completed. As of now, the top three teams are separated by only two points, with Pas de la Casa leading the pack with 22 points, followed by Atlètic Amèrica and Atlètic Amèrica with 21 and 20 points respectively. However, there are still 40 matches left to be played, so the standings could change drastically.
