The Landesliga - Burgenland football league in Austria was founded in 1921. It was created as a regional football league for the Burgenland province in Austria. The league was initially composed of 5 teams: Güssing, Mattersburg, Neusiedl, Oberpullendorf, and Oberwart. The first game of the league was played in Güssing on May 1, 1921.
