Landesliga - Tirol: A Brief History
The Landesliga - Tirol is a football league in Austria, founded in 1921. It is the highest regional football league in the state of Tyrol and is part of the Austrian Football Association. It is composed of twelve teams, who compete in a double round-robin format. The winner of the Landesliga - Tirol is promoted to the Austrian Football First League.
The first game of the Landesliga - Tirol was played on April 10, 1921, between SV Innsbruck and SC Schwaz. The game ended in a 0-0 draw. The first season of the Landesliga - Tirol was won by SV Innsbruck, who went on to win the league title a total of seven times.
The Landesliga - Tirol is governed by the Tyrolean Football Association (TFA), which is responsible for organizing the league and its competitions. The TFA is also responsible for the promotion and relegation of teams between the Landesliga - Tirol and the lower regional leagues. The TFA is composed of representatives from each of the twelve teams in the Landesliga - Tirol, as well as representatives from the Austrian Football Association.
The Landesliga - Tirol Austria season 2022 has been underway since the start of July 29th, and is set to conclude on June 17th, 2023. The season has already seen 240 out of 120 matches, with 16 teams vying for the championship. The top three teams in the standings are currently separated by just one point, with Völs leading the way with 30 points, followed by Ebbs and Ebbs with 30 and 29 points respectively. With 120 matches still to be played, the race for the championship is wide open. All three teams have a chance to take the title, and with the top three so close together, it’s sure to be an exciting finish to the season.
