The Paraense Football League, also known as the Campeonato Paraense, is the oldest football league in the Brazilian state of Para. Founded in 1916, the league has been running continuously since then, making it one of the longest-running football leagues in the country. The league is composed of teams from the state of Para and is divided into two divisions: the First Division and the Second Division.
The first games of the Paraense Football League were played in 1916, with the first champion being the Remo Football Club. Since then, the league has grown to include more teams and divisions, with the current number of teams in the First Division being 12. The teams play each other twice in a season, with the top four teams at the end of the season advancing to the semi-finals and the two finalists playing in the final to determine the champion.
The corporate structure of the Paraense Football League consists of a board of directors, which is made up of representatives from each of the teams in the league. The board is responsible for making decisions regarding the league’s rules, regulations, and finances. The board also appoints a president, who is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the league.
