Football League Cup in Bulgaria
The Football League Cup in Bulgaria was founded in 1945 as the first professional football league in the country. It was established by the Bulgarian Football Federation and consisted of 12 teams from the top Bulgarian football divisions. The first games were played in the autumn of 1945 and the first champion was Levski Sofia.
The league was structured as a double round-robin tournament, with each team playing each other twice. The top four teams at the end of the season qualified for the championship playoffs, while the bottom two teams were relegated to the second division. The league was expanded to 14 teams in the 1950s and to 16 teams in the 1960s.
The league underwent significant changes in the 1970s, with the introduction of the relegation/promotion system and the expansion of the league to 18 teams. This structure was maintained until the 1990s, when the league was restructured to its current format of 16 teams. The league has been dominated by the big four teams from Sofia in recent years, but there are still some teams from the smaller cities who have managed to make their mark.
The Football League Cup in Bulgaria is now one of the most prestigious football competitions in the country and is highly competitive. It is also one of the most popular sports leagues in the country, with millions of fans tuning in to watch the games every week.
The Bulgarian Cup is a football competition that has been held since 1938. The inaugural edition was won by SK Levski Ruse. The tournament follows a knockout system, with 5 rounds of matches. The winners of each game progress to the next stage, culminating in a single match final at a neutral venue.
The Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company is the official organization in charge of the Football League Cup Vietnam. The company is responsible for the organization and management of the tournament, as well as for the selection of TV partners for broadcasting the matches.
