The Danish 2nd Division - Group 1 was founded in 1945 as part of the Danish Football Association. It is the third tier of the Danish football league system, and is divided into two groups of twelve teams each. The teams in Group 1 are mostly from the western part of the country, while Group 2 consists of teams from the eastern part.
The first season of the 2nd Division - Group 1 began in 1945, with the first game being played on April 8th. The inaugural season featured 12 teams, including Aarhus Fremad, B 1909, Kjøbenhavns Boldklub, and Odense Boldklub. The teams played a total of 22 games each, with the top four teams at the end of the season advancing to the 1st Division.
Since then, the league has grown and changed over the years. In the early 2000s, the league was restructured to include two divisions, with the top teams from each division playing in a promotion/relegation playoff at the end of the season. The two divisions were later merged into one, and the playoff system was abolished.
Today, the Danish 2nd Division - Group 1 is a well-established part of the Danish football system. It consists of 12 teams, with the top two teams at the end of the season being promoted to the 1st Division, while the bottom two teams are relegated to the 3rd Division. The teams play each other twice during the season, once at home and once away.
The 2022 season of the 2nd Division - Group 1 of Denmark has been an exciting one so far. The season kicked off on 2022-08-06 and will finish on 2023-04-10. Twelve teams are competing for the championship and 132 out of 95 matches have already been played. The top three teams in the standings are Aarhus Fremad, Esbjerg and Esbjerg, with 36, 36 and 35 points respectively. However, there are still 37 matches to be played, meaning that the top three teams are separated by only 1 point. It’s sure to be an exciting end to the season and all three teams will be hoping to come out on top.The Danish Football Association (DBU) is the official organization in charge of the 2nd Division - Group 1 Denmark football league. The DBU is responsible for the organization and management of the league, as well as the selection of TV partners to broadcast the matches.
The DBU has partnered with several TV networks to broadcast the matches of the 2nd Division - Group 1 Denmark football league. These networks include TV2, TV3, and TV4. The DBU also works with other media outlets to provide coverage of the league, such as newspapers, radio stations, and websites.
