Primera División RFEF - Group 1: A Brief History
The Primera División RFEF - Group 1 is a professional football league in Spain. It was founded in 1928 as the Campeonato Nacional de Liga de Primera División, and is currently governed by the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
The first season of the Primera División RFEF - Group 1 was contested by 10 teams, with Athletic Bilbao emerging as the inaugural champions. The league has since grown to include 20 teams, with the most recent season (2018-19) being won by Barcelona.
The Primera División RFEF - Group 1 is divided into two stages: the regular season, which consists of 38 matches, and the playoffs, which determine the champion. At the end of the regular season, the teams are ranked according to their points total, with the top four teams qualifying for the playoffs. The playoffs are contested over two legs, with the winner being determined by aggregate score.
The Primera División RFEF - Group 1 is one of the most competitive leagues in Europe, and has produced some of the world’s greatest players, including Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Xavi.
The 2022 season of the Primera División RFEF - Group 1 Spain kicked off on the 28th of August 2022 and will end on the 28th of May 2023. 20 teams are competing for the championship and so far, 189 out of 380 matches have been played. At the moment, the top three teams are separated by a mere 5 points, with Cordoba leading the standings with 32 points, followed by Alcorcon and Alcorcon with 29 and 27 points respectively. However, there are still 191 matches left to be played and the final outcome of the season is still anyone’s guess. It will be interesting to see who will come out on top in the end.
