Division 2 - Södra Svealand is the fourth tier of the Swedish football league system and is the second division of the Svealand region. It was founded in 2007, replacing Division 3 Södra Svealand. The first season of Division 2 Södra Svealand was played in 2007, with 12 teams competing in the league.
The teams competing in the first season were: Gefle IF, IFK Luleå, IFK Österåker, IK Frej, Karlslunds IF, Nyköpings BIS, Sandvikens IF, Sollentuna FK, Strömsbergs IF, Värmbols FC, Västerås SK FK and Åkers IF.
The structure of Division 2 Södra Svealand consists of two groups of six teams each, with the winners of each group being promoted to Division 1 Norra. The bottom two teams in each group are relegated to Division 3 Södra Svealand.
The league is administered by the Swedish Football Association, with the Södra Svealand Football Association responsible for the administration of the clubs in the league.
