The Thai League 2, formerly known as the Division 1 League, is the second-tier professional football league in Thailand. It was founded in 1997 as the country’s first professional football league. The first season of the Thai League 2 saw 12 teams compete in a double round-robin format, with the top team being crowned champions.
The league has since grown to 16 teams, split into two divisions of eight teams each. The top team from each division is promoted to the Thai League 1, while the bottom team from each division is relegated to the Thai League 3. The remaining teams compete in a playoff to determine which team will be promoted to the Thai League 1.
The Thai League 2 is managed by the Football Association of Thailand (FAT), which is responsible for the overall governance of the league. The FAT is responsible for setting the rules and regulations of the league, as well as appointing referees and officials. The FAT also oversees the financial management of the league, ensuring that all teams are financially stable.
The Thai League 2 has seen a number of teams come and go over the years, with some teams folding and others being promoted to the Thai League 1. The league has also seen a number of changes in its format, with the introduction of a playoff system in 2008. The league continues to be one of the most competitive in Thailand, with teams from all over the country competing for promotion to the top tier.

However, with 135 matches still to be played, the race for the championship is far from over. The next few months should be an exciting time for football fans in Thailand, as the teams battle it out for the title. With the top three teams so close to each other, anything can happen in the remaining matches and it should be an exciting finish to the season. The Thai League 2 is a professional football competition in Thailand that was first established in 1997.
